First Date

After weeks of texting and video call chats – in proper Covid fashion – they were both eager to meet in person. They met immediately after the blockade ended, in mid-2020. Within the first few minutes of sitting down to chat, it was clear that the two hit it off. They talked about everything from culture to family to food. Before they knew it, nine hours had passed. It’s safe to say they’ll be seeing each other again soon.

The proposal

Gender thought she was going to dinner with her sister, but when she looked up from her car, she saw Julia walking towards her. Although the restaurant was closed, they walked to the restaurant where they had their first date and there was a wonderful video and an elaborate card waiting for her. Then Julia gets down on one knee, and neither of them remembers exactly how she responded other than “yes.”
